CATALYST: A New Mechanism for Creating NFTs

In 2022, The Sandbox introduced the GEM and CATALYST tokens, which became the defining tools for all creator assets.
Through these tokens, creators can assign various functionalities to their works while showcasing the rarity of these NFTs on the Marketplace.。

With the opening of the metaverse at the end of 2023, The Sandbox introduced CATALYSTs, a new token released on ERC-1155. This token is designed to help creators set the rarity and attributes of their assets based on different levels.
So, what's the difference between the new CATALYST and the old one?
The old CATALYST was an ERC-20 token used in The Sandbox. When used, burning CATALYST would add GEM slots to an NFT. The higher the quality of the CATALYST, the more GEM slots the NFT would have, indicating a higher level for the NFT.

The new CATALYST is based on Polygon Layer 2’s ERC-1155 token, replacing the previous GEMs as the primary tool required for minting NFTs.
Compared to the old CATALYST, with the new CATALYST, creators can easily create copies of their NFTs. By simply having enough CATALYST in their wallet, they can produce the corresponding number of copies. This feature provides creators with greater autonomy and flexibility, allowing their creations in the metaverse to be more diverse and interesting.。

CATALYST has five different types, each with different minting results that will determine the rarity of the assets created by the creator.

For equipment, it will also grant a fixed number of points to distribute among different attributes, enhancing gameplay.
Now that we've covered the new features of CATALYST, how can we obtain it?
Here are three ways to acquire CATALYST:
🔹 LAND holders before 12:00 PM on December 11, 2023, will receive CATALYST.
🔹 LAND holders who complete the winter event requirements will receive CATALYST in addition to SAND coin rewards.
