How to bring the flower season into The Sandbox at its peak bloom.

As winter transitions into the warmth of spring, the earth awakens from its slumber and life begins to flourish once again.

With everything in bloom, nspace takes inspiration from the recent sensation in Taiwan — the “NAKED FLOWERS: Blooming Lights & Shadows Exhibition” — to show how the vibrant flower season can be brought into The Sandbox.

Before diving into the design details, let’s first take a closer look at the NAKED FLOWERS exhibition held in Taiwan by the renowned Japanese art company NAKED, INC.

This time, NAKED, INC. brings its flower-themed immersive experience to Taiwan, offering audiences a five-sense journey centered around flowers. Visitors enter a mysterious flower laboratory where they engage with interactive and educational elements to learn fun facts about flowers and plants.

The exhibition expands its immersive environment to enhance both interactivity and educational potential.

So how can an exhibition like this be recreated in The Sandbox?

1. Design scenes in The Sandbox based on exhibition zones

The NAKED FLOWERS: Blooming Lights & Shadows Exhibition consists of multiple themed zones.

Right upon entering the exhibition space, visitors are greeted by a giant “Book of Flowers”, making an unforgettable first impression.

This book flips through its pages over time, introducing everyone to creations inspired by flowers.

We can use this book as a symbol, serving as the entrance for players entering The Sandbox.

Just like Lacoste placed a giant crocodile at the entrance of their Sandbox experience as a recognizable brand logo, this exhibition can feature the Book of Flowers at its entrance. This allows players to get an initial impression and experience of the theme right from the start.

From there, we move into the second zone — the Flower Pathway.

In the Flower Pathway, we can use mirrors to reflect petals and seeds dancing in the wind, creating the illusion that players are surrounded by a flurry of blooming flowers.

In the Beaker Garden zone, various beakers and flowers are on display.

These beakers and flowers can be transformed into a scene within The Sandbox, with each beaker representing a different floral meaning or theme.

The concept of the Beaker Garden can also be integrated into missions within The Sandbox, creating engaging interactions that strengthen player connection.

2. Designing Missions Based on the Exhibition Concept

So, how can we design a Beaker Garden mission in The Sandbox?

First, we can categorize the beakers based on color themes that represent the four seasons — spring, summer, autumn, and winter — each symbolized by a unique color palette.

To start, we could build a white garden inspired by GUCCI’s garden design, serving as a neutral yet elegant space where players begin their seasonal journey.

In this garden, players can collect pure white flowers and carry them to various beakers, where the flowers are dyed into different colors based on the beaker's characteristics.

Beyond the Beaker Garden, the final zone of the NAKED FLOWERS: Blooming Lights & Shadows Exhibition features the DANDELION PROJECT — a symbolic dandelion that connects with the world.

In this area, visitors can blow on dandelion seeds to awaken memories of the past, watching them drift and dance gracefully through the air.

The dandelion, symbolizing freedom and strength, carries seeds that convey wishes for peace to distant people. Likewise, you too will receive messages and thoughts from afar.

We can design a series of missions based on this concept, allowing players to interactively experience the symbolic meaning of the dandelion and the magic of message transmission.

These missions not only provide deep immersion for players, but also inspire them to reflect on freedom, strength, and peace.

Here are a few mission ideas provided by nspace:

Idea 1: Awakening Memories

Mission Objective: Find specific dandelions in the game and release their seeds through a special interaction (e.g., simulating blowing on the dandelion).

Mission Process: Players will explore the scenes of The Sandbox, searching for dandelions scattered across different areas.

Outcome: Every time a seed is released, players will unlock a memory from the past. This could be a short video, a letter, or an image, adding depth and emotional resonance to the story.

Idea 2: Spreading Peace

Mission Objective: Collect dandelion seeds, which symbolize sending peace wishes to distant places.

Mission Process: Players will adventure through the game environment, avoiding obstacles while collecting drifting dandelion seeds.

Outcome: After successfully spreading the seeds, a symbolic peace event will occur, such as a virtual peace dove flying. Players will also be rewarded or unlock new game content.

By incorporating these concepts into missions in The Sandbox, we can more effectively immerse players in the exhibition's philosophy and vision through interactive experiences!

3. What Impact Could Bringing the Blooming Lights & Shadows Exhibition to The Sandbox Have?

What effects could the Blooming Lights & Shadows Exhibition achieve through The Sandbox?

A. Easier Access to Overseas Fans

NAKED, INC. is a globally recognized Japanese art company, but their exhibitions are not held overseas every day, making it difficult to maintain excitement and awareness consistently.

However, with The Sandbox, the exhibition can be accessible 24/7, allowing for continuous engagement without location limitations. This makes it easier to capture the attention of international fans and maintain lasting buzz.

B. Experience-Based Marketing for Product Sales

Major brands like GUCCI and Lacoste hold exhibitions in The Sandbox, with areas dedicated to showcasing their NFT products.

Similarly, the final part of this exhibition could feature a series of merchandise sales, allowing attendees to purchase exclusive items related to the exhibition’s theme.

We can also create a series of these products as NFTs. When you purchase a related item in The Sandbox's Marketplace, a physical item will also be shipped to the purchasing player.

These NFTs can also be integrated with offline marketing, acting as collectibles and passes, offering discounts for future exhibition ticket purchases.

Holding this pass will allow you to buy exclusive, limited-edition exhibition merchandise, proving your loyalty as a fan.

C. Build Community Engagement to Deepen Fans' Connection with the Exhibition’s Message

One of The Sandbox's greatest features is that players can create their own gear and clothing.

In The Sandbox, we can encourage players to create and share their own light-and-shadow flower art pieces, hosting virtual art exhibitions to showcase these works.

Through community engagement, the exhibition’s philosophy can be spread to more people through word-of-mouth.

Conclusion

As a pioneer in the metaverse, The Sandbox hopes to welcome more players, creators, brands, and IP celebrities to join the metaverse in the future, using the power of Web3 to offer education, social experiences, and activities.

With more people joining The Sandbox, the platform's global influence will continue to grow, bringing a brighter future to virtual creation and the development of virtual worlds.
