Since the development of agrarian society to industrial society, the role of women has changed from domestic to factory labor. This change altered women's lifestyles. Women were happy to be able to work outside the home, on an equal footing with men, and to be paid for their work. However, the harsh reality was that they faced low wages, poor working conditions and long hours.
First Voices
The first feminist movement can be traced back to 1857 in the United States. At that time, American women textile workers protested against poor working conditions and low wages. By 1908, the “Bread and Roses” protests had become the most visible and influential awareness campaign of the time. These efforts to break down the patriarchal system and fight for women's right to speak out became known as the Feminist Wave or Feminist Movement.

Today, the world is experiencing a fourth wave of feminism, including the recent rise of the MeToo movement in Taiwan, a global social movement to expose and confront sexual harassment and assault. Through the internet and social media platforms, the movement has inspired many women to come forward and share their stories, ending the era of silence and leading to sweeping social change. the MeToo movement has provided support and a platform for victims, and raised awareness of sexual violence and gender inequality.
Women of Web3
Now the movement is taking on a new dimension with the rise of Web3, the next generation of the Internet, which is based on blockchain and cryptography and emphasizes decentralization, openness, and user control. In the Web3 era, women can leverage the power of decentralization to break free of traditional structures and achieve greater impact and sustainability. It provides a stronger platform for oppressed voices to be heard and for more people to join the movement.
Web3's technological innovations and community governance model have brought unprecedented opportunities and possibilities for women, and at the same time, we'd like to introduce you to a few of the platforms for women in Web3.
Women in Web3 Helping women to engage in Web3's work
WOMEN IN WEB3 was founded to help women put their passion for innovation into Web3.。

The Sandbox 為了慶祝這些努力,The Sandbox 也於 2023 年 6 月 16 日與 Women in Web3 在巴黎辦事處合作舉辦一場活動,特邀來自 Nabiya 的 Web3 女性企業家 Marie Franville 和來自 Metaverse Studio 的 Aurélie Bensoussan 進行演講。
This event provides a platform for women to learn from each other, exchange ideas and showcase their innovations. Through such collaboration and exchange, it will further promote women's participation and development in Web3, promote gender equality and diversity, and bring more new opportunities and possibilities for the development of the virtual community as a whole.
Web3 and the metaverse have great potential to empower women to break down barriers, unlock new opportunities and shape the digital landscape.
World of Women produces NFT in various female incarnations.
The NFT project World of Women is a collaboration between Middle Eastern digital illustrator Yam Karkai and partner Raphael Malavielle, who have drawn a total of 10,000 NFTs in different female avatars.

World of Women and The Sandbox exemplify how women can actively participate in, create and lead virtual worlds. By embracing the power of Web3 and the metaverse, women can drive meaningful change, according to WoW, who have four missions: to enhance the ecosystem by supporting artists and funding projects, to educate newcomers, to place a greater focus on women-oriented causes and give back to philanthropic organizations, and lastly, through a grant from the TSB, to mentor and fund artists on their Web3 journey from minting to the actual sales process. actual sales process.

World of Women and The Sandbox also intend to create a series of interactive experiential courses in the sandbox world through the WoW Foundation. These will include a WoW Museum on a 2×2 site, a WoW University offering free online courses on how to get started with Web3, and a WoW Academy that will serve as a mentoring and funding incubator.
Sebastien Borget, co-founder and COO of The Sandbox, also commented, "By promoting education and funding for women's projects, we hope to build a new generation of influential women.
Conclusion
The advent of Web3 and the metaverse has revolutionized the digital age, bringing exciting opportunities to everyone around the world. An important part of this will be the empowerment of women, as they increasingly embrace the virtual world and use the Web3 platform to push traditional boundaries.
